We have visited Mannheim several times during the last years, and have also stayed in this hotel before. The Intercity Hotel is located directly next to the main train station. The air-conditioned room was not facing the train station which meant that it was quieter than others. The room was clean and sufficiently spacious for two; this was also true for the bathroom. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of food and is fairly competitively priced at 19 EUR (I initially thought this was expensive but spent roughly 15 EUR on a smaller breakfast in a cafe in the city). Staff was generally very friendly and attentive. Hotel prices in Mannheim are generally on the low side compared to other German cities, and I would stay here again if the price is right. If you look for parking, the least expensive parking garage is the "Parkgarage Universität Mensa" - not much further to walk than the parking garages maintained by the city of Mannheim but half the price.

The hotel is situated right next to the train station within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the tram line. We were a little concerned it would be a noisy at night being so central but we were up on the 6th floor and couldn't hear anything! The air con kept the room nice and cool and the beds were very comfortable.

This is a familiar haunt of mine when I am in the area both for it's proximity to the nearby mainline railway station but also because it is a high standard Intercity hotel. Particulary of note is the great choice of fayre in the breakfast room! I spent two separate nights here and found the staff on both occasions to be most obliging.

Around the corner there are many small and good priced restaurants to eat. The check in and check out went extremely smoot.
